Coca-Cola supports sustainable development
at MEP Awards 2019
Coca-Cola is proud to continue its support of international development at the MEP Awards 2019 organized by Parliament Magazine. The MEP Award for Development recognizes the work and achievements of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) across a range of critical areas that support economic and social progress. Last year Doru-Claudian Frunzulică received the award for her significant contribution to the Parliament’s Committee on Development (DEVE) and her role in helping address the root cause of the migration crisis.
This year’s award was won by MEP for New Caledonia Maurice Ponga, Parliament’s only deputy from one of the EU’s overseas countries and territories and the first Vice-Chair of Parliament’s Committee on Development (DEVE). The award recognized his ten years as a Member of European Parliament, during which time he has played a critical role in further enhancing the EU’s partnership with Africa to tackle common challenges such as migration, climate change and sustainable development.
The Cola-Cola Foundation is proud to have contributed $1 billion to empowering local community initiatives worldwide since its inception in 1984.
