These are challenging times and our heartfelt thanks go out to all those who are working so tirelessly in so many professions to protect the health and wellbeing of our communities.
In this unprecedented and rapidly changing situation, we are focused resolutely on doing all we canb to help prevent the further spread of the virus, while also supporting the needs of our employees, customers, consumers, and communities.
We have – and always will – put the health, safety and security of people first. We are continuing to take guidance from governments and health officials, and we will adapt our efforts and responses around the world as needed.
Together with our bottling partners in Europe, Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) and Coca-Cola Hellenic (CCHBC) we produce and distribute most of our drinks locally. Both CCEP and CCHBC have taken strict measures in response to Coronavirus, as we continue production and our service for customers whilst implementing stringent measures to ensure the safety of our products and safeguard the wellbeing of our people.
We don’t believe it would be appropriate, or consistent with the current challenges and uncertainty to continue with business as usual when it comes to commercial advertising. We have therefore made the decision to put our marketing activity on hold starting as of April.
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus earlier this year, through the Coca-Cola system and The Coca-Cola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company, we have made contributions to support local relief efforts for communities in the most affected countries.
We will continue to build on these efforts, donating over 120 million dollars globally to increase the support we give to communities, both in the form of financial donations to the NGOs who are leading the relief, as well as the donation of products to those on the front-line.
